Dawson Trails Castle Rock Development, October 2026: The Costco Is Going Up, Exit 179 Is Half Open, and the Interchange Is Now Summer 2027
The first of our development trackers. The $144.7 million Crystal Valley interchange is ahead of schedule with the northbound ramps open and the southbound side due by summer 2027; the Costco and King Soopers are under construction; 486 houses and 100 townhomes are in the ground or approved; the field house has a 2028 date; and the data center question in the mayor's race has no project behind it, yet.

The new bridge over I-25 opened to east-west traffic on November 22, 2025. Five months later, the realigned West Frontage Road (now Dawson Trails Boulevard) is moving traffic and the new roundabouts are functioning. The on- and off-ramps to I-25 are still 18 months out. The Crystal Valley Parkway bridge is already open. The interchange ramps and the Costco both land in 2027. And on January 20, the Town Council quietly tripled the number of homes that can go up before any of it opens for business. It is the first decision in this project that meaningfully changes what Castle Rock looks like in 2026.
