Fika Coffee House

The neighborhood-born second Fika, opened in a former home sales office out in the Idyllwilde development. Quieter and calmer than the Old Town flagship, which makes it the better of the two for actually getting work done.
Why it's here
This is the second Fika, opened in 2015 inside the Idyllwilde residential development on Parker's east side, and it carries the same Swedish philosophy as the original: coffee as a reason to slow down rather than speed up. It was billed as the first neighborhood coffee shop in Idyllwilde, and fittingly it opened in a former home sales office for the development, which gives it a different character from the historic flagship downtown.
The program is identical to the original because it is the same family business. You get the same organic, fair-trade Kaladi Coffee from the Denver-area roaster, the same Two Leaves teas, the same Torani Italian sodas, and the same fresh local pastries. Ownership is the same too: Joshua Rivero, now the Mayor of Parker, and his Swedish wife Anna. What changes is not the menu but the mood.
The distinguishing feature of this location is the calm. Regulars consistently describe it as quieter and more pleasant to settle into than the busy Mainstreet shop, which makes it the better pick of the two for focused remote work, studying, or a long conversation that will not get swallowed by foot traffic. It functions as the everyday neighborhood spot rather than the destination flagship, and that is exactly its appeal.
Two honest notes. Parking here can still be tight despite the neighborhood setting, so it is not automatically frictionless. And if it is the historic atmosphere and Old Town character you are after, that lives at the Mainstreet original, not here. But if you want the Fika coffee and ethos in a setting where you can actually spread out and concentrate, this is the one to choose.
Know before you go
- •A calmer, quieter Fika for focused remote work
- •Kaladi coffee, organic teas, and Torani sodas, same as the original
- •A genuine neighborhood coffee shop in Idyllwilde
- •A long conversation without the downtown crowd
Opens early and runs into the evening daily. Noticeably calmer than the Mainstreet flagship, which is what makes it the better work-and-study pick of the two.
Choose this location over Mainstreet when you need to concentrate or settle in for a while. It is the local's everyday spot rather than the tourist-and-events flagship.
Parking can be tight despite the neighborhood setting. If you want the historic 1906 building and Old Town character, that is the Mainstreet original, not here.
Neighborhood parking in the Idyllwilde development at 22040 E Idyllwilde Dr, Parker. Reviewers note it can be tight; quieter overall than the Old Town location.
