Before you drop it

Sign the envelope. The most common reason a Douglas County ballot is not counted is a missing or mismatched signature, and the county will mail you a cure letter; you have until 11:59 p.m. on November 12 to fix it. Use your own ballot, in your own envelope. You may return ballots for immediate family members and up to ten total, which is Colorado law, but do not return a ballot for a neighbor who asks. And if you registered or moved recently and nothing shows up by mid-October, do not wait: call the elections office, or go to a Voter Service and Polling Center once they open on October 19 and vote there.

Voting in person

The county opens 23 Voter Service and Polling Centers in three phases.

Phase 1 opens Monday, October 19, and runs Monday through Friday through November 2, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, October 31, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • Douglas County Human Services, 4400 Castleton Court, Castle Rock
  • Douglas County Parks and Trails, 9651 S. Quebec Street, Highlands Ranch
  • Westridge Recreation Center, 9650 Foothills Canyon Boulevard, Highlands Ranch
  • Parker Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet, Parker

Phase 2 adds nine sites on Friday, October 30, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Friday, Saturday and Monday, November 2, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day: Kirk Hall at the fairgrounds and The Ridge House in Castle Rock, Northridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree Library, the Louviers Village Clubhouse, and in Parker the Fieldhouse, Parker Water and Sanitation, and South Metro fire stations 43 and 46.

Phase 3 adds ten more on Monday, November 2, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day: Castle Rock Library, Castle Rock Water, the Public Safety Training Facility, Larkspur Fire Department, Roxborough Library, Sterling Ranch Overlook Clubhouse, Lone Tree Hub, Franktown Fire's Pradera Station, Parker Library and Parker Recreation Center.

Full addresses for every phase are on the county's Voter Service and Polling Centers page.
